002 [audio/action]
Dec. 10th, 2012 04:01 pm[audio → A small handful of people may recognize the voice that comes over the network this morning, but even those who didn't speak with Harry upon his arrival will recognize that this is a man who's gone from confused as hell to almost comfortable with his current situation.
Almost.
He sounds calm and well-rested, maybe even a little big eager to speak with... whoever happens to respond.]
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me out over this past week, especially those I spoke with on my first day. You made this a whole lot easier for me, so thanks.
And—uh. Whoever it was that I hung up on, sorry.
[action for Dale Cooper & the Justice Farmfamily band → Late morning finds Harry in the backyard with Waldo, Henry, and an egg. Waldo is waddling around, curiously examining his new surroundings for the first time and not—to Harry's surprise and delight—acting like a berserk little ball of feathers (for now, Harry thinks, not without a pang of annoyance). Henry is doing the same, except with a bit more bounce and a lot less potential for crazy, and the egg is resting as comfortably as an egg can in Harry's hat, which is sitting next to him on the porch steps.
It's been two days since he arrived and it's taken that much time for him to regain his bearings. His first night was more restless than he would have liked (too much thinking about the past few days, too much thinking about Twin Peaks too much thinking), and for that reason he spent the bulk of Sunday wandering around in something of a daze. He crashed immediately after dinner, slept like a log through the night, and woke just after dawn with renewed energy and a new sense of determination.
His first stop after breakfast this morning was the Pokémon Center in town, where he picked up the egg Cheria had so generously given him. Then he popped by the Mart just to have a look around and that was when he realized oh, right. I'm gonna need a job. Luckily, Harry is a man who operates best when he has a set of goals to work toward. "Find a job" is now the first thing on his list.
(...rather, "Find out how to find a job, then find a job." He suspects it can't be that different from the way things worked back home.)
For now, though, there's one pressing matter that needs taking care of before he'll allow anything else to trap his attention: Cooper.
So Harry's out back, waiting, trying to keep his focus evenly spread between his Pokémon (egg included, not that he thinks he has to worry about it running off on him, but who the hell knows, right?) and the conversation that's bound to happen at any minute.]
